New! YouTube video of the game in action!

Adagio

You are Karth Solemu, test pilot. Your world is in danger, and the only functional warship lies in your hands. What will you do? You are not a warrior, but you will fight...

Adagio is a 2D scrolling space shoot-em-up ("shmup") with retro graphics, retro game play, and hectic action. Heavily influenced by shmups of yesteryear (such as R-Type, ThunderForce, and Gradius). It also contains a fully functional level/enemy editor!

Over a dozen unlockable rewards are available for players willing to challenge themselves in this retro-arcade game. Includes two alternate game modes: Disco mode, where you dance your way to freedom; and Spirit of the Dragon mode, which converts Adagio into a completely different game! Take charge of a massive fire-breathing dragon in order to clear the stages!

Cloudburst

The sequel to Adagio! The war is over for Karth Solemu. He's won and saved his homeworld. Yet peace does not come, for now the Jvarans have arrived and wish to annex his world for their religious empire. But then a new threat appears; Will you be forced to ally with the Jvarans in order to survive?

Cloudburst is the next generation 2D shooter, utilizing a state-of-the-art 2D/3D hybrid graphics engine. Interact with dozens of unique characters as you explore several worlds set in the HalfLight universe.

Notice: This game was never finished, and therefore only a demo exists. You can download and play it, but it consists of only the action mode.

De-Fusion

It's a race to complete your fusion reactor before the other research teams do! De-Fusion is a 2D puzzle game with slick presentation and easy to learn rules. Features both two player and computer play.

This game was created in 48 hours for the Game In A Day event which used to be hosted a Garage Games associate. It is an update to an old GWBASIC game called MAXIT.

Space Race

Pilot an interstellar taxi as you rush to bring Space Elvis to Memphis hotel before a futuristic space-convention takes place! This game was created for an auction where all of the proceeds went to Tiger Haven -- a safe home for abandoned large animals.

This game was only available at the auction, though it might be released at some point in the future.

Blue Meanies

The Blue Meanies are invading from space, and seek the reactor of your city. Manning the last few remaining laser turrets, you must shoot the Meanies before they touch the reactor and send you and everything within 50 miles into orbit!

A very simple but fun game. It is an update to a VIC-20 game with the same name.

HalfLight: Crusade

This the unfinished sequel to HalfLight. (It was originally called HalfLight II.)

Featuring vastly improved, vibrant graphics compared to the original, it is a visual treat as you are thrust once more into the conflict between the Jvarans and Gn'rthan. Giant, animated bosses, plenty of colorful sprites, and lots of explosive action!

Note: This is the uncompleted alpha version of the demo and will contain bugs. It might not run on your computer, or crash unexpected if it does run. If you beat the final boss, the game does not end -- It just keeps going!

HalfLight: Anniversary Edition

This is the game that started the Adagio and Cloudburst cycle!

It is a prequel to Adagio and Cloudburst. Enter the world of the Jvarans and Gn'rthan, who fight between the halflight of distant nebulas for control over their worlds. Retro 2D scrolling action with a plot and characters.

Note: The Anniversary Edition was a 7 year anniversary compilation that was a Win32 port of the original DOS game. Gameplay mechanics were updated slightly, and two new game modes were added: Time attack mode, where you must complete levels as fast as possible. And Boss Gauntlet mode, where you are thrown into a constant fight with all of the game's bosses. One new weapon powerup was added: Kosra's Scythe, which is a weapon of immense proportions!

Hunter's Law

Strange creatures that travel between the stars and stand upright on two legs are invading your land -- They are called humans, and you have to stop them from destroying your stone-age civilization!

Hunter's Law is one part role playing game, one part canine simulator. Send out your pack of wolf-like aliens in order to hunt for food, while moving towards your eventual goal; A new territory, free of the invading bipeds from the stars!

Note: This is a DOS game. An emulator such as DosBox might be required for play on modern systems.
